Hotel Amsterdam is located just 5 minutes walking from the charming centre of the village of Valkenburg with its nice souvenir shops, terraces and the monumental buildings in marl colours dotted along the Geul River.

The oldest railway station of the Netherlands is just at a 2 minute walk away.From there you can reach Heerlen or Maastricht within 12 minutes by train. You can also make a nostalgic ride by steam train, crossing the beautiful landscape of Limburg.
Forests and other areas perfectly suited for walking tours are also within walking distance.
Many places of interest, such as caves, marl pits, museums, castles, ruins and amusement parks Valkenier and the Sprookjesbos (fairyland), are easily reachable by foot.

The centre of Valkenburg is also a good place for biking, making a quad tour through the caves, for playing laser games or paint ball in the caves. Another popular attraction is the chair lift, which takes you to the Wilhelmina tower. From there you can abseil from the watchtower or take the toboggan run. Plenty of things to do for all ages.

To relax and unwind, visit the health resort Thermae 2000 and for some excitement head to the Holland Casino. Both are situated on the Cauberg.
